What’s New for the 2018 Toyota Tundra?

Usually the first thing to discuss about a truck is its capability. This year, however, the 2018 Toyota Tundra is making its mark in a new area: safety. Already sporting eight airbags, two more than any other comparable truck, it has crash avoidance features. The driver’s favorite is bound to be adaptive cruise control. Using radar, it will slow the truck when leader traffic hits the brakes or is detected as traveling slower than the Tundra. Another way it relieves driver stress is with adaptive headbeams. These regulate the light, leaving the driver to keep hands on the wheel and eyes on the road. A pedestrian warning keeps busy watching for people who may step into the path of the truck. A forward collision warning notifies the driver that traffic is slowing or stopping, giving the driver a chance to hit the brakes. In both cases, the automatic braking system may engage to reduce the chances of an accident. The lane warning keeps an eye on the lines and alerts the driver to straighten the truck up. An automated assist may tug at the wheel to achieve the correct trajectory.

Moving a load remains the number one role of the Tundra. Its two hard-working V8 engines offer two levels of payload and towing capability. Drivers will appreciate the way this truck handles, even when burdened with cargo. Trailer sway control improves responsiveness for those pulling a camper or boat trailer. Tundras also put the emphasis on your crew with two-row cabins. The larger CrewMax is known for its extra-large back seat and class-exclusive reclining rear seats. Families will find LATCH attachments for car seats on the second row as well. Tundra cabins are built to take care of people as well as an SUV does. Trim levels start with a well-equipped work truck and continue with leather-clad editions. Heated seats and many other amenities are on the menu. Every edition comes with the Entune radio touchscreen. The top audio system packs the cabin with 12 speakers.
